Three Ways to Pay for Payments
Processing runs through Basys in the US and Stripe internationally. The monthly payments fee is separate from your software tier.
Flat rate
$29/mo
Plus 2.9% + 25¢ per card transaction. The simplest of the three, and the option used in the worked example below.
Card + ACH
$49/mo
$35 setup, then 2.9% + 25¢ on cards and 30¢ per ACH transfer. Worth it only if a real share of your members pay by bank transfer.
Service fee
$29/mo
Your members pay a 3.75% fee and the gym's net processing cost is zero. The cost does not disappear — it moves onto your students.

The Service-Fee Trade-Off, Honestly
On the service-fee option the gym's net processing cost really is zero. That is a genuine offer and some academies are happy with it. But the fee does not vanish — your members absorb it at 3.75% of every payment.
At average dues that is roughly $65 per student per year. Across 100 students that is about $6,500 a year moved from your P&L onto your members' cards — and members notice a line item that appears on every single payment.
Card surcharge rules also vary by state. Before you choose this route, confirm what is permitted where your academy operates and how the fee has to be disclosed.
