What Kicksite Is, and Who It Fits
A fair read first: a lot of schools are well served by Kicksite, and for good reasons.
Kicksite is martial-arts management software built for the whole martial-arts market: karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, MMA and kickboxing schools. Pricing is by active student count, $49 a month up to 25 students, $99 for 26 to 50, $149 for 51 to 100 and $199 for 101 and up, and every feature is included at every tier, all as of September 1, 2026.
The feature set covers what a school needs: memberships and automated billing with failed-payment alerts, attendance, belt tracking and promotion tools, lead capture forms and landing pages, and email plus unlimited one-way texting at no extra charge. Payments run through its preferred partner, Basys.
For a lot of schools that is the right product. The question for a jiu-jitsu academy is what the per-student tiers and the processing terms add up to at your size, and how much of the jiu-jitsu structure you would be building yourself.
Why BJJ Academies Start Looking Elsewhere
Three things jiu-jitsu owners find when they price Kicksite at their actual size.
Growth is billed
Four tiers, three step-ups. A school passes $99 at 26 students, $149 at 51 and $199 at 101, so the software bill rises with the roster you worked to build. At 101 students Kicksite is $199 a month before processing; Kmura is $150 flat at any size.
Processing has two lines, not one
As published on August 27, 2026, Kicksite's processing through Basys was $29 a month plus 2.9% + 25¢, with an alternative where members pay a 3.75% service fee. On $14,600 of monthly billing, 100 students at the $146 US average membership from Gold BJJ's State of Jiu Jitsu survey, that runs about $68 a month more than 2.6% + 30¢, roughly $810 a year.
Built for every art, configured for yours
Kicksite's belt tracking and promotion tools serve karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu and kickboxing alike, which is the strength of a platform that has been at this since 2007. It also means the jiu-jitsu specifics, stripes, time in grade, curriculum by rank and the nightly question of who is due, are things to confirm on the demo rather than assume. Ask to see them set up for a BJJ academy end to end.
None of that makes Kicksite a bad platform. It makes it a platform priced and shaped for a different kind of school.

BJJ-specific software with a technique library and LMS built in, on a $49 plan that adds a 1% service fee on billing or a $149 flat plan with no service fee. The technique library is a real differentiator if delivering curriculum content to students matters to you.
Best for: Academies that want a built-in technique library above all else.
